The theme of this year’s exhibition was “Flight.” Creators were encouraged to reflect on the theme from their own perspectives and could submit up to six works or series of works created between 2019 and 2021. The self-portraits featured in the exhibition were inspired by different travels across three continents. The locations include Chile and Colombia in Latin America, Port Pirie in South Australia, and Belgium and Finland in Europe. The concept of flight allows for quick transitions between these locations, and hotel rooms often serve as temporary studios for the artists.
