Eco-Cultural Waters of the North: Art, Memory and More-Than-Human

This exhibition brings together the artistic practices of two artistic groups, one from Canada Trent university and the other from Finland, University of Lapland exploring the relationships between water, land, memory, and the more-than-human world through movement, film, storytelling, and artistic practice. Their works engage with Indigenous ways of knowing and practices of reciprocity, listening, and care, creating a dialogue between different geographical, cultural, and artistic contexts. The collection opens a space for shared reflection on different ways of knowing, relating to, and caring for water and the natural world. It invites us to see water not simply as a natural resource, but as a living presence with which we share relationships, responsibilities, and common histories. This is part of an exhibition series produced by The Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design Network.
