If humans were hybrids of plants and nature, we might bloom with the seasons. Yarrow could sprout between our toes, and brooklime might grow from our temples in summer. While nature remains a part of our essence, Finnish folklore links it as a protective spirit to both humans and animals.
Entering the water merges us with underwater life, where plants cling to us, and the surface forms a barrier between worlds. The weightlessness in water evokes childhood memories, and waves carry a force we can surrender to. The exhibition featured five mixed-media photographic prints and two installations with augmented reality (AR) elements for an interactive experience, accompanied by the artist’s stories and videos. This exhibition was part of the SUMU symposium.
