Meren taju: Community Art on the Archipelago Sea

In July, artists Taina Kontio and Satu Miettinen initiated "SENSE OF THE SEA" in the Archipelago Sea, expanding to the Perämere region in August. Kalahari Highway Exhibition: Art and Indigenous Sounds Combined

"Meters of Sand" is a 140 cm by 500 cm digital textile print showcased at the Kalahari Highway exhibition from August 16 to September 16, 2018. It incorporates a voice installation by Jari Rinne, connecting to Tarja Wallius' work. Soundscapes recorded during workshops with San communities enrich the exhibition's narrative.

Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom: A Children’s Art Journey

The felted textile art piece "Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom," created through collaborative workshops with schoolchildren, was exhibited at Valo Gallery in Rovaniemi and previously at Vaasa Art Gallery. It promotes themes of tolerance and multiculturalism, allowing children to envision their unique flowers. The installation will also travel to Australia for further exhibition.
